Chloe has been curating & organising exhibitions focused on craft & community building since 2017. The exhibitions elevate crafted artworks and objects and challenge perceptions around art and craft. Each exhibition has a strong storytelling element, using floristry and exhibition design to play with current themes in craft. Work is placed in still-lifes, often overlapping and in conversation with other pieces, with different view points throughout the gallery.

a textile assembly
In May 2024 I curated an exhibition at Staffordshire St with my long term collaborator, Rachael Pilston. The exhibition showcased the work of both celebrated and emerging artists, exploring textile construction and the weaving of structures and stories. The exhibition was part of the London Craft Week schedule. We were interviewed by Decorating Dissidence at the show.
palestinian textiles
In February 2024 I co-curated A special night celebrating Palestinian Textiles event with Rachael Pilston and Caitlin Hinshelwood. The evening featured a screening of The Embroiderers by Maeve Brennan, a talk with Tatreez Collective and a range of artworks & textiles from Palestine and local artists for sale.

During the winter of 2023 I co-curated two Craft Show exhibitions, one in London and one in Stroud, with a programme of workshops in the gallery. The exhibitions showcased the work of 30 artists and makers working with craft including Joanne Lamb & Woo Jin Joo and had workshops with artists including Joke Amusan and Isabel Fletcher.
Winter Craft Show
In winter of 2019 we opened a permanent gallery space for Craft Show in a railway arch off of Bellenden Road in Peckham. The space had 8 artists studios and a gallery space where we planned to run a series of exhibitions and workshops throughout the year. We opened our first exhibition, Winter Craft Show, in December with artists including House of Quinn and workshops including Sara Kelly. The following year we had to close the gallery in 2020 due to the covid pandemic.

In 2019 I curated my 3rd Craft Show at Copeland Gallery in Peckham with Rachael Pilston, during London Craft Week. The exhibition showcased the work of 50 craftspeople, exploring themes of making as human necessity and a post-mass production world where we have only the handmade and nature left. We exhibited artists including Christabel Balfour and Helena Lacy, along with workshops hosted by artists including Ruby Bateman and Sofia Salazar.
Unravelling connections talk
In 2019 during the Craft Show exhibition we hosted a panel discussion with Lydia Morrow, Christabel Balfour and the brilliant team behind Soft Thoughts podcast, Ruby and Jean. It was a winding discussion on how textiles connects the everyday to art, the power of touch, colour as a tool for change and the fluidity of artists as makers in the social media landscape. It explored how makers across different specialisms within textiles work in isolation and with social communities to bring people closer together.

In May 2018 I curated my 2nd Craft Show exhibition with Rachael Pilston, during London Craft Week at Copeland Gallery in Peckham. The exhibition showcased the work of 50 craftspeople exploring the theme of craft for every day life with a curation celebrating colour. The exhibition included artists Louisa Loakes, Lily Pearmain and Mawuena Kattah of IntoArt, and workshops with artists including Freya Bramble-Carter and Stitch School.

In May 2017, Rachael Pilston and I organised an exhibition of 30 makers, including ourselves, at Copeland Gallery in Peckham. We scheduled the event over London Craft Week, although we were not officially part of it, and aimed to showcase the work of local artists and makers working with craft, many of who were based south of the river - where there were no official London Craft Week events. We wanted to get makers work together in real life and off of Instagram. We exhibited artists including Caitlin Hinshelwood, Helena Lacy and Christbel Balfour, who we continue to work with today!
