Chloe Phelps is an artist, curator & workshop facilitator based in London.
Chloe Phelps is an artist & designer working predominantly with textiles and fibre. Interested in the therapeutic and essential nature of making, Chloe’s work explores colour, material, intuition and our connection to the world around us through traditional and folk techniques. Aiming to create a sense of balance, Chloe utilises different practices to create tactile artworks and sculptures. Alongside her own practice, Chloe hosts workshops and runs Craft Show.
workshops
Chloe has been teaching workshops to adults and children for over 10 years. Her textiles workshops are often in response to exhibitions or themes. She particularly enjoys empowering people to be creative and gently connecting sustainability, making and the objects around us.
curation
Chloe co-founded Craft Show in 2017, a series of engaging exhibitions, talks and workshops that elevate craft and craftspeople, giving them the space and focus they deserve. Since then she has curated many exhibitions, workshops, talks and events promoting craft.
art
Currently Chloe is exploring basketry and using reclaimed textiles and natural dyes to make soft, bellied forms exploring waste, over consumption and a soft & slow ordinary life. A new collection of work is due to launch this autumn.
